The challenge over at LRW this week was to use a tree on your creation.
I needed to make a thank-you card for a dear family friend who has been very helpful to my mother as my mom cares for my ailing father.
I wanted to do something about Family Trees and this is what I came up with:

The Scrapping Bug DT Reveal #1
This month I was given a selection of papers mostly from the the "Ad Lib" line from BoBunny. To be completely honest, I was a bit stressed at first because these papers were not ones I would have chosen for myself. But once I started digging through my photo collection, I saw that that the colours that showed up throughout the papers were all ones that my children wear on many occasions.
The more I thought about it, I was glad to have received papers that were out of my comfort zone. I like to be challenged and thinking outside of my regular "box" is good for me. That's why I joined a Design Team!
The above 2-page layout features pictures of my youngest son. He's helping with the dishes, cuddling with his Aunt Meghan, playing cars with Daddy and trying on Mommy's shoes. He is also playing with Nana's magnetic rocks which he thinks are hysterical.
The orange paper is not BoBunny, but Scenic Route instead.
I used black rub-ons from Kaiser Craft and several Fiskars punches to complete the layout.

Girls Night Out
On the March Break, my sister came to spend a few days with us before she flew to Florida to visit my parents. Our family was supposed to be going south too, but because of Bryn's surgery, we were unable to fly. So instead, we made the trip to Buffalo an outing for Afton and I and we drove Aunt Steph to the airport after a lovely dinner out, cross-border shopping, and a night in the Millennium Hotel. These pics were taken right before our large Italian meal of pasta and bread. (Don't worry- we went for a long swim in the hotel pool afterwards!)
(All product - K & Company, except ticket stamp - Imaginisce)

Grandparents
2 layouts to share today.
The first is one I created using pictures of my grandmother taken at Christmas time. Unfortunately, Grandma hasn't been well lately, dealing with bouts of dimentia. We don't get to see her very often, so we were very glad she attended our family's Christmas party. As usual , "GG" wanted to feel my daughter's thick, soft hair and had a quick cuddle with my youngest son.
My father-in-law (the kids call him Grandpa) LOVES to dance. It isn't a party until he has created a dance floor and a small crowd has gathered on it. On this particular day, Grandpa and Grandma encouraged my 3 kids to join them on the "dance floor." The kids LOVED it!
This layout is based on a Becky Fleck sketch and uses K & Company product.

DT Reveal Part 2
My mom made an adorable monster hat for each of my children after I found the pattern on Etsy. Camden has not taken his off since he received it! On this particular day, after telling him he could not have any more snacks before dinner, I caught him sitting on the couch with a big vat of Cheerios in hand.
"Look Mommy. I get snack myself!"
Okay. I'll admit it. He got away with it just because he's cute.

We had family portraits taken in the fall. The photographer wanted to take picture of my two older children jumping off of the rocks. Afton was able to coordinate her jumping with a smile towards the camera. Bryn had a lot more trouble. He kept jumping, but not looking.
After many jumps the photographer had some great action shots - some with smiles, some without. But I love them all, none the less.
All papers- Bobunny and Scenic Route
Acrylic Stamps- Doodlebug & We R memory Keepers
Chipboard letters - American Crafts
